Whomever you choose, let him advise you on chamber size, etc.
Need to do the heads to match you build.

Good luck with your research.

Depends how far he wants to go.

Headwork alone will give him a nice bump for a reasonable dollar amount.
Mild port, cc'd to match his cam and cometic .030 gaskets to optimize the squish. Nice bump, low dollars.

He asked about headwork and you guys have him splitting his cases?
I like it!

petemac- What numbers did your bike produce once you had the heads done? I'm also concerned about my ability to take off the darn heads to send them to bigboys. Have just started doing my own wrenching and have a long ways to go before I would even fill comfortable removing the heads and what not. I guess I could take it to the indy and have them do it.

Take your time, get the service manual, and you can do all your own work. Just get a table to put all the parts on that you remove, and keep everything organized and clean.

Where are you located? There might be a forum member local who would be willing to help you out.

Kendall Johnson is another consideration. I'm getting 87/87 out of an 80" Evo even after de-tuning it.
