Do a 2-tone look with both colors. I decided to do it on my Flhx just for something different.

One of the nice things about a painted inner fairing is as the rider you actually get to see this upgrade as your riding! :icon_clapclap: The two tones are lookin real nice!:icon_goofygrin:

Same back and same dilemma - in fact absolutely same thought process. If black, is it really worth the effort? If blue, could it look OTT after a while. I am quite keen to move the Aux port to the back of the headset and replace the air temp gauge with oil temp, so I figure if I am doing that then may as well do inner as I can get that done for free.

Incidentally, anyone have the paint spec for the blue?

+1 for the two tone on a two tone bike!

I'm voting for blue that will make a statement no doubt.

Tin,

You can usually do pretty well selling the takeoff inner in the classified section of the Forum. That is where I got rid of mine. I also bought a takeoff and had it painted by a guy who specializes in HD paint and repair so I could do the whole swap in one day. Saved a bunch over the HD one and he put extra clear on it as a protector.

Do the blue.Just had mine done Flame Blue Pearl;looks great!

It was a PIA to get the paint though. My paint guy couldnt mix it;was missing an ingrediant for the paint mix,and no one had it.A local airbrush guy had a pint leftover from a previous job,and let it go for $50.Thank god.

Painted Inner Fairing and Chubby Bars

Go with the blue inner fairing. I ordered the painted inner fairing from HD, then sold my stock one on eBay. I did the install myself. Big job but nothing too complicated.
I also installed Wild 1 Chubby 12.5 bars. I have notes and photos on that project on my website, www.FLHTK.com.
