WIX 57348 (chrome) & 57148 (black). Yes, they are 5 micron.

I stand corrected, but my search on the Wix site nevers pulls up that filter number.

Mobil 1 is not that cheaper, I buy HD black ones by the case from Chicago HD very reasonable cost per filter.

You have to put the Harley filter# in and the WIX filter will cross ref... http://wixfilters.com/

You can buy the Wix Chrome for $8.61 or the WIX Black for $5.32. http://www.discountfleetsupply.com/

Do you have any info where it states 5 micron? WIX probably makes HD's filters for them. I would like to know if the WIX filters are indeed 5 micron.

Doing some online research, I found this on another site:

"The equivalent WIX chrome filter #57348 is: nominal 19 micron, bypass valve pressure 8 psi, height 3.404", OD 2.921".
The Wix black filter #51348 is: nominal 21 micron, bypass valve pressure 8 - 11 psi, burst pressure 275 psi, beta ratio 2/20=21/37, max flow rate 7 - 9 gpm, same height and OD as chrome.

From what I can figure out, the beta ratio for WIX means it's 50% efficient at 21 micron and 95% efficient at 37 micron.
What the efficiency of the H-D filter is for their claim of being a 5 micron filter, is what I'd like to know."

I'm following this thread, as I have used napa filters for years with no I'll effects. Personally, I think it's all about diligent maintenance, done in a timely manner. I can do 3x as many oil/filter changes using napa oil and filters, compared to the prices Harley charges for the same oil and filters.

Here is what I get from the wix cite....

Chrome version is 57348
Glass media version is # 57148

So I'm guessing the black version is 51348?...
