Yeh I would say depending on what your getting I'd get part no.s names and go pricing.
I talked with jd and he had recommended turned me on to the d&d pipes.
(I feel guilty I didn't use him thou couldn't afford it was out of work awhile).
I did an 03 FLH, fatcat 2-1 4" muffler, pretty easy going only rough part spreading to get into head ports, don't forget new exhaust gaskets. Never road with new pipes but didn't like the way it sounded, leaky lean, so input on the Vance & Hines fuel pack for now.
On my 03 95" stage 2 kit it opened that thing up like wow.
Once funds are restored thinking about dynotune.
Pipes delivered to front door in Pa were $826.00 I believe. Nice.
Dave's a good guy nice work if your in the area. Probably get better price.
Also watch the tuner, I went with v&h because of travel, if it should burn out I can unplug run stock to get somewhere.

If this is the full Zippers Marelli conversion it is a screaming deal I have discovered, but I doubt that it is, as the total for everything from zippers for the full conversion and the pipes is more than the quote at dealer pricing.

Do yourself a favor and take your bike to someone to do the work on it. I bet it was leaky after you spread the head pipe. That's about all i can understand in your post.

I don't think thundermax makes a tuner for the marelli system, you have
To convert it to Delphi, really I can't think of one system that auto tunes for the
Marelli

No I didn't mean leaky as in exhaust leak. It just sounded weird, a lean mixture, and didn't actually spread pipes but you do have to persuad them into place.
After the v&h fuel pack I like it I'm happy. Changing fuel supply changes tonal quality, some.
As for having other people work on my bike Ahhh??
Depends on what it is, if I need a machine shop work yeh but I've been doing my own for 25 years. This way I can't complain.
Happy riding!

Actually they make a full Marelli conversion kit, at least that is what it is called. I assume that it converts Marelli to Delphi, so you are really correct. I have not done enough research to determine this but you have just helped me understand what is in the conversion kit.

thanks!

Yep that's what has to be done, convert to delphi, it's a slick ECM Everything is in one little box, including the thundermax with auto tune, best bang for the buck IMO on marelli based touring bikes
