Shorter shoe on left was behind the cam plate. Right shoe is on the front. I believe...

Mine didn't last past 33,000 miles, toasted a motor in the process, the new motor has spring style tensioners in it now, but not for long , if they go they will eat a motor in a heart beat....

Default Cam Chain

And this is why I went to a gear drive cam
1. more accurate timing
2.Less maintenance and piece of mind
3.more Horsepower and response
4 I never have to worry about shoes tensioners chains or the material from the shoes in my motor or oil pump

Yes, but you have to worry about crank runout with gears unless you had it trued already. In my opinion the newer hyd setup is better for a street driven bike, if your racing then gears are the way to go.
