First bike was a 74 CB550, I still have it. It may end up as a cafe racer at some point. I had a Hayabusa for a little over a year, 4k miles and no tickets. Saw 165mph once, never had it topped out. It was fun, but hurt my arms/elbows/wrists on long trips...anything past the end of the block, really.
I do miss how smooth it was, and the absolutely explosive roll-on freeway power. After riding something like that, any Harley is going to feel gutless above 70mph, but unless you plan on track days I wouldn't think it's worth the purchase of another bike just to get it. It's more fun to run through a couple gears on my RKC than it was on the Busa.
I sold it to put a down payment on my RKC, and I haven't considered buying another. The 550 only gets kept around for use as a spare bike for when friends are in town.

When I said to some friends that I'd eventually want to get or build a chopper for a second bike (My wife's Fat Boy is cool & all...but it's HER bike, ya know?), a few of them suggested getting a sport bike instead....for fast runs on twisty roads which they all love to do.
I immediately thought that would be cool, but I'd probably get a 1200 Sporty instead...I think a Nightster would be almost as good as their Bandit & Triumph Tiger. I've ridden a few sportbikes & while I love my friends Motoguzzi & his wife's Ducati, I don't like the riding position. I hate leaning forward and DOWN, with all my weight on my hands. But a Sporty? Yea, I can dig on that all day, even with mid-controls.
Problem is, I'd still want a "looks cool but kills your back to ride" chopper & I gotta admit that I'm pretty impressed with how well my SG does corners! Though a used Nightster would a lot cheaper....
