atrain,

when you decided to not make any changes to the crank, what was the feedback you got from the builders you talked to? Was it the HP from the 107 build would not be enough to cause stress on the crank?

I too am looking forward to you write up. We recently used your write up to put the woods tw6 in my bike.

This should be a real nice build! Looking forward to the end results!

Yes, the guidance I recieved was from a number of builders. All the guidance was the same - no crank work is needed. Specifically, I was told that certain model years (early 2000's) had cranks that had higher failure rates. The newer cranks do not have this problem. I should have asked what specific years are okay, but at the time I was focused on 2008 and later.

One builder summed it up by saying if you ride like an insane person all the time, then consider crank work. If you are sane (I think he used that word loosely) then it is unlikely you will have issues.

Agreed...my wrench changed my minds on the cams, and now we're pricing the 107 kit...

"just a few more bolts and we can..." strikes again!

Looking forward to the write-up! I"m sure it will be as thorough and helpful as your cam write-up. I'm starting my own 107 project next week.
