Default SE plugs on stock Twin-cam-any advantage?

Just wondering if replacing the stock 6R12 plugs with the iridium type SE plugs really does anything (besides higher cost). Any advantage-like quicker starting- last longer??..or just hype..

Good Question I dont think you could go wrong with them. maybe wasting a little money, But what is th difference in price? I would guess maybe five bucks. I think you'd be better off to upgrade the wires to.

I saw no difference. Went back to the regular plugs to save some bucks.

Waste of money? Isn't that the Harley way? I run them, can't hurt. I believe a higher quality spark plug will in fact make a difference even if only tiny. I also have SE plug wires. But that's just me. You can't take it with you.

This is NOT 1st hand experience, but I have read on this forum that some members have had problems with brand new SE wires and put the stock ones back on.

Why? Stock plugs and stock wires power many of the 120+ hp bikes on this forum, and yes, I know a lot of those guys.

You do have to watch wire upgrades as the plug wire resistance is what the ECM measures for misfires, and cylinder problems. A minute difference and the ECM will throw fault codes. If you must upgrade, keep it at least to HD wires, aftermarkets will give you problems in a lot of cases.

I agree entirely, if they really want to spend some money, I have some swamp land to sell.
