road glide our electra glide
Going to buy a new road glide our electra glide. I will be using it for long hauls need some help on the pro our cons on each of them, Going to rent each one as soon as the weather brakes. I am hoping to get some help please. I hear the glide is smoother and better in the wind then the electra then I hear not. Thanks for any GOOD advise please.

I think it is like trying on helmets. You need to see what fits you best.
I have never ridden a bat wing bike so I can't tell much other than just sitting on one. I know the RG fits me well and I am happy with the outcome. Took some mods (fairing lowers and shield) to make me happy for long runs

You're doing it the right way. Ride them and see what floats your boat. I have an ultra classic but got the opportunity to ride a RG for a week. I personally couldn't wait to get my bike back. The RG wind buffeting was horrible but I hear its fixable with new shield and adding lowers. See what you like and don't look back.

If you are going to ride 2 up, the Electra Glide would definitely provide more passenger comfort. I love all the storage space in the tour pack on my Ultra. I use it every time I ride to carry all kinds of stuff. It is easy to lock up your helmet and other gear when stopping somewhere. I'm so used to it; I could never go back to a bike without it, unless it is a second bike. You could always opt for the new Road Glide Ultra. Good luck with your decision. You’re going to end up with a great bike either way.

I hear the Road Glide is better at long hauls than the Electra Glide Ultra Classic. I can not get over the Road Glide only turning the wheel when you turn the bars. Its all in what you want.
I prefer my 2006 Heritage for touring. Most touring bikers cant get over what I do with my Heritage 2 up. Its just my preference. We all are different and thats why Harley makes so many different models.
