I have the J&M, worst rip off ever. I live in town and can't search most channels my car gets 100 miles away. The HD is a Biketronics with a different sticker. Similar to the $20 one at Autozone. Might try it, be good to get better reception.

Sucks, just like their made in China speakers. I bet if you researched it that POS antenna is also made in China.

My experience with the J&M is the same as yours. Works great and I can get all the stations I could get with the stock one including the weather stations.

I bought one for the clean look. It's not bad when in areas where the radio signal is strong, but it seems to struggle elsewhere. Plus, I occasionally get the fuzzy engine sound, which I think is due to the powered part of the J&M. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it would be this way, but I do like the no-whip look....and it just prompted me to find a better ipod solution.

My antenna looks EXACTLY like the picture of yours mrnone, only without the bar & shield logo. Bought it at AutoZone,,, 24bux. It works okay untill the fan kicks on from my oil cooler, then no reception. I have the power wire plugged into the back of the cig lighter. Thinking I will try the whip inside the fairing next.

never listen to the radio but I use two fm transmitters to stream pandora from my fone on one channel and ipod stream on another.
the shorty whip installed on my bike was done by a moron. The wire rubbed on the tire in extreme curves or whatever there was bare wires on the tire side. My reception sucked, the whip always got in my way swapping quick release items...
49.95 at stealer feels like it is worth 15 bucks so that is about right.
they want you to tape it on with the supplied double stick . Yeah right! that **** should hold the next 100000 miles upside down stuck to the dirty greasy inside of my fairing. this would have been the only thing attached to the outer fairing requiring unplugging 3 connections to take it off. WTF?!
(they should just make the parts in china. Keep engineering and installation American. just my 2 cents.)
I opted to loosely wire tie it to the unused holes in my gauges. I didn't test it but I have a sneaking suspicion that the power is just for the stupid light that no one is ever going to see?! I wired it anyway because the whole install is retarded easy.
reception for me seems awesome, but I am coming from a kinda busted when I got it standpoint.

You can buy the same antenna @ AutoZone for $20-, just minus the HD logo. They work great.

I put the J&M Flex in last year...save your money...can't get clear AM anymore...FM is marginal. Also put in the hidden CB antenna - again save your money. Both will be coming out when I open the fairing.

I installed one of the hidden ribbon antenna,s like the one Greg installed. It worked ok untill the fan came on for the oil cooler. Then all I got was static. I removed it & installed the original whip antenna inside the fairing. There is plenty of room for both radio & CB antennas in there. I used the short sections of coax that came with the quick release kit for my tour pack. It works great! I went to ACE Hardware & bought 2 M6 chrome acorn nuts, 2 M6 Chrome regular nuts,2 M6 Chrome flat washers, & 2 Chrome M6 lock washers. This covers the studs on the tour pac where the antennas went. Looks good IMO.
