if you're using a FM ceramic 2-1-2 header you DO NOT need a gasket ... pic to follow.

I will call around tomorrow to see if that is accurate.

Does anyone know what they are talking about? Does anyone have an 11 Parts catalog they could scan so I have the actual parts list.
The issue is the gaskets used on your 2011 Limited appear like they won't work with your new head pipe but they absolutely will. The factory head pipe is slightly tapered slides into the gasket which is about 3/8". Kinda like a like the seal between a flared tube and fitting. The Fuel Moto pipe has a precision flange and the seal is made by the face of the flange pressing against the face of the gasket as opposed to the inside diameter of the gasket. IMO most people with a technical back ground would say the Fuel Moto pipe needs a different style gasket, meaning the old style flat type. Fuel Moto has said the new style gasket will work fine and provide a leak proof seal. They are 100% correct. I installed their head pipe a couple months ago and it's a finely crafted piece. The flanges are blemish free and perfectly flat and will seal against the face of the old gasket just fine. Your dealer may not be comfortable using the new style gasket because because it seems contrary to how thing normally seal. All I can tell is it works fine and many, many others have had the same results.

With 1300 miles on mine,I installed their Stainless headpipe with the stock gaskets.
4000 miles later,no problems.

Listen, I know all the talk here us confusing. Call fuel moto and ask Jamie, you'll soon see those who installed without the OEM gaskets are mistaken.

I think you may not understand where the gaskets are. They don't slide over the studs and fit between the retaining flange and outside the exhaust port. They are inside the exhaust port. That taper you see inside the exhaust port IS the gasket it's self. It's about 3/8" thick and tapered on the inside. Unless you look close it does blend in and look like part of the port.

I can understand why HD might want to replace the gaskets. If they were to leak then they have to do it over again. The price of the gaskets aren't worth doing the work twice. I'm sure others will disagree. I would want all my old parts back. Do yourself a favor & check another Hd shop to see if there is a difference or call up Jamie at fuel moto. Just my 2 cents

Bet like somebody said its the crossover pipe gasket. Seems they screw up pretty easy.
I screwed one up. And Yes the crossover has to have the gasket. And I couldn't find a dealer with one of these gaskets in stock.
Who used Stock pipes and crossover gaskets. All new pipes come with them and don't use the gaskets in the crossover.

Found a dealer with some take off pipes. They let me have them.
I took the crossover pipe off and used it on my bike.
Put some anti seize on the gasket and do not pick at it or it will spider web on you.
Make sure you take the mufflers off the crossover pipe. And be super careful so you do not screw it up going on.
Take yer time.

Fuelmoto should come up with a fix for this .
Seems Vance and Hines Power Duals don't have this problem.
