So I've decided to keep the 07 Streetglide,kinda like the fairing and radio. Its pewter denim.Lots of chrome so blacking out isn't really an option.
I'm gonna have my brother paint (awesome painter by the way )some black flames with small white tips onto the fairing and possibly down the tanks and bags. I am going to install 14 inch apes on it. Do I get black apes or chrome ?

 

Black bars if the inner fairing is black

 

Id get chrome (if that's what I liked) otherwise black.

That is an interesting thought, I've never seen a bike with black 14" apes.

 

A friend has a dark gray 08 SG. He has a black and chrome thing going. He did black apes with chrome and black controls. It looks great!

 

I know they are not 14in apes but may visually give you some idea of what yours will look like if you paint inner fairing

 

I just did the same dance with 12s on my EGS. I went with Wild1 577 in chrome with black controls, levers and black Avon grips. I went with chromite lines and, while still a work in progress, I am glad I chose chrome over black. I really didn't have enough black on the bike to make the black bars work.

If your getting Apes, you can't go wrong.

I dry fit my bars last night and laughed out loud in the garage. Like a little kid. I love them.

Can't wait to finish up and get out.....
