Default Zumo 660

Hi Guys/Girls

Getting ready for the British riding season I was thinking about getting me a Sat-nav. I quite like the looks of a Road tech Zumo 660 as it can be wired to work with the radio and all that. When I read a little more I found that it can not work on the radio when the HD mobile phone interface is installed. Well I have the phone interface and want to keep it. Has anybody come across this problem and if so is there a way to overcome this?
Ps... I'm not really keen to mess with the wiring myself.

Thanks for your help

I don't know about the mobile phone interface, actually haven't even heard of this from HD, do you have the part # for this? Is this a BT adapter?

One thing to keep in mind if purchasing the Zumo 660 is, it has to be the RT, as the Zumo 660 and the RT Zumo 660 have different software versions, and only the RT will work with the interface to the radio.

I personally would never get the interface....also I have seen a few people post that it doesn't work correctly either.

Might want to rethink the 660 and get the 550. Unlike the 660 the 550 has a "security screw" that you can secure it to the mount so you can walk away for a short period without fear of someone snatching it in a split second.

The 660 comes off too easily IMO

I've had the interface built in when I bought the bike new in 2007 and never had a single problem with it. I have heard the remark "it doesn't work good" before but can not work out why people say that. I use it about 2 hours per day in the riding season.

Agree with what StevePacman said and I will add that I have the Zumo 550 - no HD interface, and it works just great, I could put a simple splitter and play street directions thru the AUX port, but TBH, I have yet to need to hear the street names and directions spouted to me. YMMV - JMO

I like things clean and simple. Have had mine for over 4 years now. In either case - both are good units.

Thanks for the info on the RT. I will keep it in mind.
When I'm in the garage tomorrow I shall see if the part number is on the box (I'm sure it must be)
I have been told that is is discontinued though so you may have to search a little harder to find it.

The part number on the interface reads:P/n 76222-06A. Handsfree interface
Hope this helps and yes it is BT. It works by pressing the activate button and then either by voice command or by scroling through the phone book which is displayed on the radio display screen. The passenger can also join in the conversation (handy for when the mother-in-law phones)
I love this gadget and have only one problem with it. The voice activation does, when at high speed, struggle with my Dutch accent!
