Derby Cover Swap?

Derby Cover Swap?
I'd like to eventually swap the stock 103 Derby cover for a nicer-looking one. Since I'm not in a rush, should I wait until 10k miles when I have the primary fluid changed? Sorry if this is a silly question, but this is my 1st Harley and I've never had a bike that required changing primary fluid.....just oil and tranny fluid.

As long as the bike is standing straight up,(not on the jiffy stand, bike still leans, on a jack) so the primary fluid doesn't leak out, you can change the derby cover and inspection covers at any time. Get gaskets too, they're cheap enough. Nothing worse than being finished and getting a drip over a $6.00 gasket.

Wow.....its starting to sound like these 103 covers are made of Unobtanium or something. I could have sworn I saw a recent thread with an HD part number for them. Anyway, thanks for the info guys. I'll probably wait until the 10k primary fluid change, especially since every extra penny I have now is going toward an full exhaust upgrade, but I may spring early. Having patience is easier said than done.....
