No buffeting on my RK. I even cut the windshield down to 17.5" from the stock 20" and still no buffeting, even on chest. Lowers help keep the wind from coming up under the shield or fairing I guess.

For those who haven't experienced real buffeting (not just lots of wind, or even wind without a windshield), it can be insanely crazy (insanely crazy... isn't that two of the same??) - it can be so bad that you can't see because your head is vibrating so bad and so fast.

My first bike had crazy buffeting with a memphis shades windshield, but after some adjustment to height and angle, it was fine.

You've obviously never experienced the kind of buffeting that makes it impossible to see at highway speeds.....

I don't experience any uncomfortable, if any at all, wind on my chest on my Street Glide. I do get wind that seems to hit me right in my glasses but I'm sure I can cure that with a 6.5 inch recurve shield? I like the wind!

Ok.. So it's clear that the RK doesn't have much buffeting.. So let's rephrase this to the comparison in buffeting from under the tank to the chest on the SG vs RG...

The strange thing about the buffeting is the less I have the less I want. When riding a highway speeds I'm always moving my hand around to feel where the buffeting is coming from. I want a good air flow past the motor but I also want a fairly calm air space behind the windshield. I'm going to try the air deflectors this season to redirect the air coming up to more down past the engine.

Always ride my RKC without the windshield, don't notice any wind problems unless it's a very strong headwind and I'm going above 60mph.

Rode my buddy's Ultra, didn't really notice any wind hitting my chest, the only "issue" I have riding his bike is the wind going around the batwing swirls up and pushes my beard hair up towards my eyes, so it feels funny

Pretty bad buffetting until i changed the stock shield and threw on the $30 plastic pieces under the fairing. Made a world of difference. Now with the lowers... riding a cadillac at 85 mph's.
