I rotate mine on and off, depending on the weather. I like having the glove boxes, so they probably stay on more than they should.

Mine stay on. On warm days, the vents are open. On cool days and nights, they're closed.

Pulling the lowers off will lower overall engine temps on the highway more than syn, hi flo a/c, free flow exhaust, oil cooler and a fuel tuner combined.

I replaced my heads last year and left the lowers off for the summer. I missed the lowers in the rain and noticed no difference in the engine heat. They'll stay on this year as I get still caught in the rain often enough.

It seems as though the lowers actually funnel the air over the motor somewhat. We need to ask someone with an oil temp guage to see if there was a temp difference b/w running them or not.

I live in Florida and mine are on year round. Open the vents when necessary.
