Default 1K Service

I am coming up on my 1000 mile service on the new FLTRX 103 , I was planning on putting Amsoil 20w50 in the motor and outer primary, and Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 in the tranny, the parts guy at the local shop said I shouldn't switch to synthetic motor oil in the motor until the next oil change that 1000 miles was to soon, what are your thoughts

I switched to Syn at my first change. No problems. After reading numerous posts on here, my next switch is going to be to Mobil 1, which can be found at wally world. Mobil 1 also has V-Twin which is also there. Just some food for thought.

The Screaming Eagle/CVO bikes come with synthetic in them from the factory.

If putting synthetic lubricants in too early was going to cause problems, wouldn't all the CVO bikes be having problems?

I was told the same thing, not to change to synthetic until the 5000 mi.mark.Dealership salesman told me that.He is an older guy(I'm 52)& he has show cars.He told me the reason but I can't remember what it was. With that said there's a lot of guys on this forum that change it out a lot earlier.I'm gonna wait til 5000 mi.

So, does that make him more qualified?
Truth is, that is just his opinion.
Just like your going to get an opinion from everyone here.

As said earlier, all the CVO bikes come with Synthetic from day one.

Also, most of the HD dealerships that change over to synthetic do it at the 1K service.

I don't know if he is more qualified or not, after listening to his explanation he was obviously more qualified than me.Yes,you will get different opinions, that's why I gave one.
