The RGU was the bike for me. The bat wing fairing makes me feel claustrophobic!
I also think the frame mounted fairing gives the RGU lighter steering.

That's interesting! I was just the opposite, I felt more claustrophobic in the RG.

If you want to start a debate, you've sure asked the right question.

The differences between both bikes appear to be significant but they really aren't. Both are great bikes and easy on the eye, but the only advice that matters is that you need to rent both and figure out which one you will want parked in your garage.

I'm another one that went from a Road Glide to an Electra Glide.
Road the '06 Road Glide for 55000 miles.
Not really much difference in the fairings to me except everything is closer on the Electra.
I think the ride and handling is better on the Electra.Of course I came of an '06 so i'm willing to bet the new Road Glides also handle better.
One thing for sure is,removing the batwing is much easier and i think it also attaches better.

Of course this topic will never die, just like which cams, what oil, etc... It seems that people love to ask questions that have no answer. But just like you and most of the others, I still read and sometimes reply.

Not to change the subject, but could anyone recommend the best speaker upgrade?

I went from an Elctra Glide to a RGU. I love the RGU, but honestly wish I gone to an an Electra Glide Ultra instead. Only reason is more options for your fairing stuff. Let me see, dash mount GPS, flip out vents, more styles of windshields, a lot of options for your lighting like headlights etc., easy on/off of fairing. Oh yea, the RGU didn't come with crash guards for my bags, no rear tourpak lighting either. However, there is a noticeable difference IMO on the ride in turbulent wind with the shark over the bat. But not enough to warrant it.

The one thing that sticks out to me with the RGU vice the EGU, my wife gets a lot more wind with the RGU. She said it is very noticeable. Great for her on hot days, not so on cold or rainy ones. I think the batwing does a better job of pushing the wind away from both rider and passenger, whereas the shark is better at cutting through the wind and protecting the rider. my 2 cents.

That's like asking what is the best oil!
There are hours of reading here about speakers.

Thanks for the info. But Seriously?

Geezr, fyi, I have read in another thread that if you use lemon pledge and not pledge orange, it will void your warranty. So I am not sure I want to try this.

MikeM, sorry for the interruption in your thread, thought a couple of SA replies would be good for the read, like I originally said, get the one you thinks looks the best and fits your needs, because the rest is moot.
