Default all 5 washers are there look harder

all the washers are there I didnt miss any. There is no noise coming off mine, had bike on dyno put out 98 hp 107 tq. so I'm sure it would be reallly banging with a washer left out. my original used to bang every time it started and also if rpm was a bit low it chugged like a diesel tractor. sure bike was almost stalling as compensator banged back and forth.

Maybe a year late, but to eliminate chatter of the SE Comp has anyone of you guys added a additional small spring to the pak of 5? If so did you add it in parallel or in series?

Red Heat Strenght Locktite. Really? How does that work out when the time comes to replace the stator??

And I'm not being sarcastic, just curious.

I've been into mine a couple of times, the bolt has never been loose, held its torque fine.
I have always had chatter with this Screamin Eagle Comp since it first got installed.

I finally removed it a couple of weeks ago, however, I just now ordered another SE spring pak today, thinking about, adding another small spring to eliminate the chatter im getting when this bike warms up... quiet as a mouse until about 25 - 30 miles have been run.

I don't want to be a spoiler but SE one is not a permanent fix I'm already on my 2nd one within 50K miles since stock was replaced.

Mine has been in for only 2500 miles and 6 weeks, put it in right before a 1900 mile trip to the OBX. Removed it a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't stand the steady chatter or clatter at cruising speeds. 60,65,70 mph. I'd rather have the starting issues. Got 59k on the bike now. Put the SE Comp in at 56.5K Going to try adding a spring this week before another weekend trip.

I removed my SE comp this weekend after maybe 5000 miles. Chatter had gotten really bad just in the last few weeks. My stock OEM comp still looks damn near perfect; it had about 30,000 miles on it when I replaced it with the "upgrade" SE. I had my dealer save me a spring out of a stock comp and added that spring to my stock OEM unit this weekend. So far it seems great. No starter bang, and my 103" motor catches revs like a 2-stroke dirt bike now due to the huge reduction in rotating mass. So far I likey! Chatter is gone, gone, gone. I had read about this mod here and there and finally got up the ambition to try it. I realize there is less travel in the comp with the extra spring but I feel it is still enough to dampen the pulses during normal riding. They all bottom out when we ride hard. I now guys with stock cranks running EVO 30T solid sprockets and cranks live. Time will tell; I am leaving for the coast Saturday morning with my lovely wife on board. Tourpack loaded plus T-bag on top. Wish me luck!

There have been threads elsewhere regarding dino oil running quieter in engines than synthetic. Perhaps that might apply to the primary also.
