Default Recommended Stereo upgrades

Hey folks, obviously I'm not too hard to please. I usually do everything in moderation ie, a simple stage 1 upgrade on my Street Glide is just fine and is more than enough for me.
Same applies to the tunes. I think the stock Harmon Kardon stereo would be good enough with some simple minor upgrades. So what do you guys recommend as a Stage 1 stereo upgrade? I just want some better sound, nothing over the top, just a bit better? Looking for a simple quality upgrade maybe in kit form?

I hooked up a headphone jack and use Ear Buds.

I've tried two different amps and speaker upgrades (Hawg Wired & Biketronics), nothing is close to the Ear Buds.

Thanks. I'd like to stick to a conventional upgrade. I've used Bike Tronics stuff in the past with excellent results and excellent customer service as well. How did you like their upgrade?

They were fine, get their biggest amp and 6 1/2" speakers.
Simple install and worked.

I sold my Biktronic unit for various reasons and put in the HD Boom speakers upgrade.
They sound extremely tinny and cheap compared to the Biktronic's 6 1/2" speakers I had.

Thats good to know, thanks. I have had real good luck with Bike Tronics products. Had a run turn module on my 15 year old evo, and when it died and I called for another, they replaced it free. Said Lifetime Warranty. I told them it was old, but it didn't matter. They shipped it two day as well.

Before I put in the Hawg wired 6 pack system I had a Sony unit that I got from biketronics. Used it with the Harley stock speakers, and it made a big improvement.

Just installed an ARC Audio mpak4 kit. Amp and 6.5" speakers along with wiring harness. Real straightforward install. Good but not great sound from speakers, mind you still fine tuning the amp at this stage. Can hear it decently up to 75-80 mph which around here can collect you a nice little fine from the local LEO's lol...
