Kind of funny to see this posted this morning as both battery's took a qrap yesterday. Anyway pulled card from wallet, ran procedure and wham, 103 v twin fired right up.
Off to the shop for brake light switch and new fob battery's.

Ride on.

like i do. I don't care for battery (mine still work since '04) but for radio antenna interference and that happen sometimes here.

After reading this 4 months ago, I finally took my stubborn butt to the garage and changed my pin. Then followed the procedure to start without the fob. I also located and filled out both the wallet cards from the owners manual. Definitely a must do!!

What's a PITA about a passive alarm system? Walk away, it arms. Return to your bike, it shuts off.

Of course, that's assuming you don't let the batteries in the Fob go dead.

Default Bike stollen?

I had to go look and found 11111 as the code @$%^&**(@.
What the F--k?
I got a 2011 and did not think I would need to worry for another year or so for new battery. After seeing this tread I got to thinking that if my Stealer set them all to 11111 then any one in our area could walk up to the bike and steal it within 10 seconds? NOT GOOD!!
It should be required for it to be set with the salesmen at the time of sale.

CHANGE YOUR CODE. Or you might fall victim.
Thanks for this thread.

For everybody that has the factory alarm.....it's a good idea to check it, as the dealers generally set it to all "1"s, or to the last digits of your VIN.

Either way, if a person was armed with that knowledge, it makes it very easy for them to ride off with your bike, w/o the alarm even chirping.

After reading this I went out and looked in my manual. Fortunately, it was not all 1s but I would never remember what it was if for some reason I didn't have the card. I changed it and practiced starting the bike without the fob. I did get new batteries for the fobs also.
