Default 90 degree valve stem?

I just installed a new tire and tube on the front of bike, now I am getting ready to purchase a tire and tube for rear, the stock stem that came on bike is a pain to check air pressure. Is there any reason I could not put a tube with a 90 degree stem onto the bike?

Thanks in advance

If you don't get anywhere on the 90 check out one of these or similar. The centered stems were a pain in the **** until I got this. Works for the air shocks and has a tread depth gauge.

Saw this on Ebay and looks pretty good for the rear touring bikes:

Glad I found this, I bought a micro gauge last night to check pressures, what a pain that was. Not to mention having large hands and the spoke wheels. My neighbors heard some words this morning!

My Valkyrie has 90 degree valve stems from the factory. It also has clips that hold the valve stems to the wheels. I've been told more than once that if the clips break or are left off, that centrifugal force will eventually cause the valve stems to fail. So if you're going to install 90 degree valve stems, you need some way to fasten them to the wheel.

Harley sells a nice pencil gauge for about $13. It has a 90 degree end fitting that gets right in and has a tread depth gauge too. It is only about 6" long and comes with a holster. It seems to be pretty heavy duty. Feels good to get out of the dealer for $13.

I bought these. Once my stock tires are done, which is pretty soon, I will get these installed with some new American Elites.

Good find there, sweetlu. Those might be on my mod list when I get new tires.
