Default Dakota Digital oil temp sensor location?

Anybody mounted the sensor for a dakoa digital oil temp gauge anywhere besides the oil pan? From my experience and what i have heard the pan is not the most accurate spot. I was thinking in series with the oil cooler(on a 2012)...any ideas or pics of what you have done?

Mine is in the pan, not sure about the "not being accurate" part. Wherever you decide make sure that you attach a second ground wire around the outside of the sender to a good ground. The Dakota will act up if not grounded 100% and give you lower than the actual oil temp readings.
