I just put 3.5" (Clearline) Rinehart slip-ons on my '09 RKC and they sound great, just what I was looking for. Could it be the 4" are a little louder?

I am thinking about the 4" Rineharts for my '11 SG.I have 3 1/2" now and for me they could be louder.I would love to know how they are on a long ride as ear fatigue, etc sets in.Any loss of power? If you are looking for something slightly louder than stock,my Dad found Screaming Eagle 4" mufflers to be perfect on his '09 EG Classic.By the way I have no "cat" on my '11 SG,I have an aftermarket header.

They are going to be louder than stock but you can pop out the baffles and wrap them with pipe wrap and that'll deepen them a little. Make them not quite as loud. But like was already said, they will get louder with time. Not sure about everyone's state laws but most check at idle and at idle they are pretty tame. Same thing with cruising speeds... they tame out. If you open the throttle up though they are going to growl!

I have a set of 2011 CVO slip-ons on my 09 classic now and they are way too quiet,to my ear they almost sound restrictive, the stock pipes sound better than the CVOs IMHO.

My brother has 3.5 on his 2011 SG, I got the 4' on my 12 SG, his are louder than mine on acceleration, I absolutely love the deeper lower tone on mine, his have more of a pop to it, both sound fantastic, both bikes have less than a 1K miles.will see what happens.

They are only really loud when you get on it. When you are cruising on the hi-way you will have a nice rumble. They are great sounding pipes...

I went for a putt today as I said I would and report back. The 4" Rinehart slip-ons to SEEM to add a little power to the bike, at the sacrifice of having to deal with loudness, and burbling with an occasional "pop" on decel, but not at all speeds.
Keep in mind I have a catless 99 FLHT.
I still am on the fence as to whether I can accept the loudness, and get used to it, I sure do not need to worry about cars, they WILL hear me coming. The burbling/pop I don't know, I'll have to wait and see.
Thanks.
