Default Kuryakyn headlight trim ring rusting on the inside

Picked up the Kuryakyn LED Halo headlight trim ring to go with my Truck Lite headlight. Had it on my Ultra but took it off when I sold it. Well I noticed that the inside has some surface rust. Doesn't surprise me with Kuryakyn parts. Just wondering if I should...

A. Call Kuryakyn and see if it covered under any kind of warranty.

B. Spray the inside of the ring with either primer or some sort of rustproof paint.

If (B) is the better option any suggestions on preparation and what type of primer or paint to use. Should I just lightly scuff it with steel wool or wet sand. Not to familiar with painting and paint preparation so suggestions would help.

C.) Put it on and forget about it.

if the rust is on the inside, it's wasted effort.

you can try calling them, but...

All of the Kuryakyn stuff is made in China (what a surprise). I wish I could fine the picture of the boxes of items behind the Kuryakyn booth at Bike Week, Daytona this year. Those cheap looking cardboard boxes stamped Kuryakyn, Made in China.
The other thing to consider is if you are on the ocean side it is going to rust and even Harley will not stand behind the plating. I had a Sales Person at Rossmeyers, tell me to avoid the Daytona salt rust and pitting I should be buying a new Harley every 2 years (ya right).

No harm in calling (or emailing) to see if they will do something. Won't get anything unless you ask. If not, then scrub off most the rust, shoot it with Rustoleum, and it's ready to go.

Anything I've ever got from Kuryakyn has been garbage as far as the quality of the metals

Yeah I know Kuryakyn isn't top shelf. But I wouldn't expect rust after just a few months. Also took a closer look and removed the halo LED ring and there is some rusting around the hole that the halo wire passes through.
