Default How to fix black denim scratch, if possible

Just bought a 2012 Road Glide Custom with the black denim paint. Picked up Wednesday. Had nothing but trouble out of it. 1st, within 5 miles of picking it up, the right speaker blew. Had to take it back to stealer. They fixed it and bought my lunch. No biggie. Next day, the horn quick working. Took it back Friday and they had to replace it. No biggie. The problem is, some tech put a huge scratch down the right side of the tank. They said they will fix it. What I want to know, just for my own knowledge, is can they fix it or have to either replace the tank or repaint it?

Make them replace the tank.

Man that's a bummer, sorry to hear about all of your issues. At least the Dealer is stepping up. I had a car dealer do warranty work and put a scratch on my new car, and they denied any responsibility, said it was there when I brought it in. - Needless to say, I will never buy anything from them again.

Have them replace the tank...denim paint is nearly impossible to fix with any kind of consistency between the old paint and the new paint. Plus, it's on your tank...pretty visible.

They have the right to fix it first. If it isn't PERFECT insist on a new one.

i have to agree, if you are not happy insist on a new tank. Its one think if you scratch it, but when the dealer scratches it, that is completely different.

If they get a good painter you wont be able to tell the difference. Im a crappy painter and painted my own bike. No one could tell I did it myself.

very simple fix all they do is add a additive to the clear to give the matt effect. done it many times. but if i was in your shoes i would want a new tank but a repair can be done without any issues.
