You can put the finned bridges on with lower fairings but the chrome is not recommended for heat reasons.

Why does the parts manual indicate that these are not to be used on bikes equiped with lower fairings? I have them on my 05 Heritage and love the look, but am taking delivery in a couple weeks on an Ultra and was planning on putting them on that too. Thanks in advance.
I've had them installed on my Ultra Classic for 16000 miles, since the night I bought the bike............no problems at all.

I like the way they look and I figure that the extra fins can't hurt either as far as engine cooling goes.
I think they look nice, but I dont see how they would HELP with cooling. It looks like it should help cool, but it's a decorative piece. I would think it reduces the ability of the engine to radiate heat especially in the area of the plug. Just me, but I don't care for covers on the engine or tranny. I like to see what's going on.

Got them on my 06 and had them on my 02. On the 02 one of them came loose and caused a noise that it took me a couple of days to track down. Just had to tighten it up a bit.. They really dress up the motor....
