I had a set of 2011 CVO Street Glide mufflers on my 09 Classic(no cat). They are a nice looking pipe but they were quieter than stock,I didn't like the sound at all.But that's just my opinion.I went from the CVO pipes to a set of 4" Rineharts.I love the sound and the performance gain, according to the seat dyno.

The cats are not in the mufflers. They are in the head pipe. When I did away with my cats, it did make my bike a fair amount louder. (2010 CVO Ultra)

There was a couple of years where cats were in the mufflers and not the header. I don't know for sure, but I was thinking that the 09's were like that. Somebody weigh-in on this please.

I'm pretty sure In 09' the only bikes that had cats in the headpipes were the California and overseas shipped bikes ..

Ive been told to meet EPA compliance, the stock CVO Ultra mufflers our more restrictive than stock Ultra mufflers because of the increased motor displacement. I friend of mine has a 2010 CVO, when he had the stock mufflers on the bike, it was very queit.
