Default loud tick...help

bike is 2011 Limited
just installed S&S 583 easy start cam
2 into 1 VH ProPipe
Big Sucker
PC5

after installation the cams, load map from pc5, bike runs very nice and pull alot stronger in the middle rpm.....im satisfied at this point

my only problem...when the bike idle, if i suddenly whack the throttle, it will sound loud CLICK before the rpm rise quickly.....
mayeb its a detonation/ping ?? i cant identified a ping so im not sure its a ping or not
anyone guide whats happen with my bike?
fuel is 92 ron...thats highest on my village ....its an ancient country guys
is it dangerous?
bike really run very nice and stronger after cams

maybe becoz cams installation i need to use higher RON fuel ?
or can i add more fuel through pc5 at certain rpm/certain throttle opening ??
dont suggest me to dyno tune, coz NO dyno tune available here....

btw i appreciate ur input

thanks

Sounds like a ping based on your description. Probably simple ignition tweak in the map. Contact Fuelmoto for the adjustment needed. Their the experts.

Brand spanking new Road Glide Ultra (103). Wasn't happening at first. Now past the breakin mileage and same deal: only when at idle and give her a goose a LOUD ping. Not every time, maybe 10%. Trying to use deductive reasoning on symptoms....

Hows your valve train noise with the 583? Just upgraded everything to the 106 with 583and I hear noises at idle I never heard before. Pretty disappointing. Im starting to think it may be the injectors but cant tell. Sounds like a knocking in rockers. Have had several mechanics ride it and they dont hear anything to be concerned about. I really didnt think the 583 would be noisy. glad you figured out your issue though.

I'd have to disagree with the all of the ping diagnoses based on your description "my only problem...when the bike idle, if i suddenly whack the throttle, it will sound loud CLICK before the rpm rise quickly....."

When you say "whack the throttle" are you talking about about free revving in nuetral or with the clutch disengaged? That is how I interpret what your saying. If so, that is why I disagree with the ping diagnoses.

A ping is most likely when the bike is under a high load. Going uphill in too high a gear/too low an RPM is an example of where a ping would become obvious. Rarely would you ever hear a ping under light loads such as free-revving. Additionally, pinging is rarely described as a "CLICK". Maybe a series of "CLICK, CLICK, CLICK...", but not a single "CLICK". It's more of a rattling sound than a click sound.

As hard as it is to diagnose noises over the internet, based on your description I think you're going down the wrong path if you believe your problem is a pinging issue.

I had what sounded like detonation.. Turned out to be the doors on the leg fairings... Vibrates when idle and letting off throttle after hard acceleration. I had to remove vents to determine that they were the problem. It's worth checking. Good luck!
