The Cabins were built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps for travelers to stay in when the area first became a park.

 

The backside of Elephant Rock is probably my favorite viewing area in VOF. However, one would have to park and make a short hike.

 

The cabins are tiny but for a for a view of this off your your front door step, I could stay there.


Just next to the cabins is another nice shady picnic area


If you go in one side of Valley of Fire and out the the other you are missing the best views of the park... you have to take the side road that goes past the visitors center to see even more beauty

At the end of the road is the White Domes hiking path, if you are up for a little hike.




The area has been a set to numerous movies including Star Trek Generations


The road ends at White Domes and you get to go back the same way you came.
