Default Another Dealer Closing

There goes another Dealer, This dealer deserves it. They had this dealership going on 4 yrs and completly ruined it. It needs to be closed. Original Owners had it for over 50 yrs. It's amazing how quick a car dealer can damage a MotorCycle shop...St.Augustine Harley... sorry!

It would probably help if you named the dealer.

This goes true for any business! I am always amazed at how people go about purchasing a business. To me a sign hanging "Under New Ownership" meens that either the business had problems in the past and wants everyone to know that things have changed or that the new owners aren't smart enough to keep quiet and let the thriving business continue. This is especially true of the restaurant industry!

As far as the Harley dealership goes, I can't help but speculate that possibly the previous owners saw the writing on the walls? There comes a time in ALL businesses when changes have to be made. Though this is not the best of economic times, the motorcycle industry especially is undergoing vast changes on all levels. Unfortunately these changes have been ongoing and will continue to prevail in the next few years, at least.

Word on the street is that Adamec (Jacksonville, FL dealer - 3 current locations) bought the "rights" to the dealership in St. Augustine. Apparently the land and building where St. Aug Harley sits is still owned by the family that owned it for those 50 years? I'm curious to see how that pans out.

Adamec jumped at the chance because they knew Rossmeyer would snap it up. Good move!!

Sorry people, It was St.Augustine Harley. You are correct saying Adamec is taking over.. I talked to Adamec's people and they said the Motor Co would not let RossMeyers get it. I don't think they even wanted it now. When Daddy was alive he wanted it. I'm looking to see them close in near future, things look shacky in there.. (Rossmeyers).. Here say on the property is that someone wants to buy it and put another Gas Station there. I'm curious what happens also..
