Best thing I ever did was ridding my bike of that POS 'Y' pipe. You can cut it off and patch it or contact Fulsac and install one of they're kits.
More than many of those 'Y' pipes actually extend into the pipe they were joined with causing an obstruction to exhaust flow. Two of mine did exactly that.

Its a common occurrence unfortunately. Some do it quickly & others never at all. My 98 FLHT broke a couple as did my 07 SG. I went to a V&H Pro Pipe on the 98 & V&H Duals on the 07. Problem solved.

You have to take it off to repair it anyway so if you have the $, good time to got a different route.

Also make sure the little "L" shaped (?) bracket that mounts the "Y" pipe to the top of the starter is not cracked. That is if your '05 has one - my '07 does and I can't speak for other years. It's relatively cheap and easy to replace. The "Y" pipe was the first thing to break on my '07 - I found one on ebay for cheap and just replaced it.

Same thing happened to me this last fall. My buddy had a new OEM takeoff so I did the same thing. Just part the program if you really put any miles on your bike.

Happened on my 02 as well. I was told it was more common on 02s than most other years, something to do with the angle of the exhaust on the hanger under the saddle bag.

mine cracked on the way back AZ last summer, turns out the front motor mount was als broke, lucky still under extended waranty by 6 months, told me that most of the time when the Y Pipe cracks its because of a broke motor mount, so make sure you look to see if it is broke
