I was going to do the same thing, then figured that if I ever wanted to sell it, at least I would have the stock head pipes to put back on, so I bought a new Jackpot 2/1/2 headpipe from Fuelmoto. Just waiting for that bad boy to get here to put it on, then wait for a clear day to see the difference..

I would think, unless your selling to a total "NEWB" on Harleys,, that the "Stock head pipe" would be a deterrent when you sell it.. the "Gutted" one would be a plus!

But I guess it depends on if your selling to someone who wants it to sound like a Harley, and wants it to run good,, or to a "Tree hugger" ROTFLMAO!!!!

IMHO about the only thing you gained,, was a wallet that was about what,, 300.00 lighter? (I'm sure the Fuel Moto headpipe is a great product, not dissing them,,) Just sayin,,,,

I think it has to help keep strength in the pipe cutting it like that.

I think it's just coated and treated steel, not stainless.
My buddy Tigged it closed using stainless though

This picture was taken when the Bike was 1 week old, and had 135 miles on it. This is right after I pulled the Stock HD Header off, and I was on my way over to my buddies house to remove and KILL the Cat

My understanding is that there is a performance increase with the Jackpot's as well, so I've got that going for me. As far as selling it, When/if that time comes, most likely it will be at the dealer trading it in on a new model, so putting the stock headpipes and stock mufflers back on can't be a bad thing.

I'd be able to turn around and sell the headpipes, as well the Rinehart slipons that I'm currently running. (I know I won't make back the $$$ that I put in it, but at least I'd get some of that back)

I guess my school of thought is that most mods you make to a bike, once you get to the point of trading it in, the more you can pull back off and replace with stock components, the better off you are, wallet-wise.

The Jackpot looks good. I was thinking of going with x-pipe by Fullsac (http://www.fullsac.com/x-pipe.html) Now I'm going to look into Fuelmoto option.

You will have to wait 8-10 weeks for Fuelmoto to make those, FYI

Easiest way to remove the cat on the $25K bike - spend $500 for a new head pipe, why f*ck around?

The standard stainless pipes take approx 2-3 weeks (mine just shipped and I ordered a couple weeks ago), but the ceramic coated certainly do take a while. The guy told me it would be roughly 10 weeks lead time.

I don't want to be dicking around when spring rolls through, and the ceramic wasn't that big of a deal for me, so I just ordered the stainless...

Dresser duals. Even if you gut the cat the crossover section of the head pipe is still restrictive. With the amount of time i would have spent doing this it was easier and probably cheaper for me to just get the dresser duals. And the sound even with stock pipes is a lot better.
