I recently did the same thing. I ended up drilling a small hole in the back of the spot and ran the ground to the frame. I zip tied the new ground to the regular wiring so it's pretty inconspicuous. Your bike looks really nice.

 

With the right tools, wiring and pin removal tools are a must if your going to mod anything to do with electrics on a Harley, and its a piece of cake. Cutting and splicing wires is not the best alternative, but its done now and it looks great! I agree though, a spliced and soldered connection is prone to future failure.

 

Thank you for all the compliments, Ill post more Pics when I get her finished, I didnt know that about sodering the wires back together. I wish i woulda depinned it LOL didnt even think about that. Its done and your right realigning everything is a major PITA but its worth it LOL. To me the white didnt sit well with all the chrome and I wanted some contrast. Again thanks guys for the compliments
