Anybody having trouble getting metzler ME880's?

Local HD dealer waiting at least 6 weeks so far on a back tire with wide whites.

 

Don't know about the WW's but the BW's are available right away.

I'm having BW ME880's put on my FLHTC. The indy I deal with told me that if he orders them today, they'll be in his shop tomorrow morning.

 

Don't have whites but I got mine ordered, received, and installed by an indy in 3 days. They order the tires, give me the best internet price I can find, I bring them the wheels, and they install the tires for $15. I balance with dynabeads. Just did front and rear 2 weeks ago.

 

Well, I was told by a local HD shop that all domestic Metzler's come through Drag Specialities and the ME880's WW's have been on backorder since about Christmas. Even called a Indian dealer as Metzlers are OEM on those bikes and they told me they are on backorder until earliest Feb 24th. I had some Pirelli tires put on my car and that those were on backorder for a couple of weeks.........wonder if there is any connection?

The answer is no, but if the dealer told you the White Walls are on backorder, I guess the White Walls are on backorder........

I don't think anyone is having trouble getting the Black Walls as far as I know.

Pirelli now owns Metzler, has for a few years.

Guess I'm still questioning the availability because I don't necessarily believe everything dealers tell me. Also thought if true, I would have read something about it on this site but as of yet, I have no confirmations from this site that rear Metzler WW's are and have been on back order for 8 weeks now.

 

Could be that they don't sell that many WW's, so there's hasn't been alot of attention to the issue??

 

If ya post the Part numbers or the sizes you are looking for I can check with my dealer to see if they have any? They had an open house last weekend and the tire rack looked pretty full. Worth a shot anyway. Welcome too.
