If I am understanding this correctly, you took your stock mufflers off and they modified them and sent them back to you. What would they be comparable to as far as sound because I do not want them to loud. You tube has quite a variety of mufflers on there that I can listen to. What could I expect to pay. Thanks for the reply and your input.

Yes you send your mufflers and they modify them....or you can buy premade mufflers if you want to keep yours stock...They sound similar to my brothers Rush mufflers....but they are a little deeper,,,slightly louder....they have baffles you can add if you want them toned down a little. You can listen to sound bites on their website....great people to deal with. For the price I dont think they can be beat. I like the look of the stock mufflers...My second choice would be Rush....I have had several sets on previous bikes. I thought I would give these a try and I have no regrets at all.

American Custom Exhaust Review
I too have a 2012 Road King, and also have American Custom Exhaust. First of all with the factory head pipe and running without baffles the sound in my opinion is fairly tame. I purchased the mid rumble baffles just in case they were to loud and haven’t even opened the package. Secondly, if you’re an attention to detail kind of person you might see some imperfections that might not be to your liking. For example on my mufflers you can tell where heat was applied during the welding process. The “custom exhaust rings” when welded were also welded at significantly different depths in the pipe, causing the end caps to be an inch off between the two mufflers. (they did send me some spacers to correct it, but the screws are to short to hold the end cap and all the spacers required to entirely correct the problem). Lastly my wife ordered chrome end caps for me, and well we received the black. (good thing they didn’t look bad). I have put on about 300 miles on the mufflers, and I guess I would rate them as ok. I think they would sound much better with a head pipe with gutted cat. All things said I would say there quality control could be better and the product is acceptable I did decide to keep them after all. Good Luck in your decision.

on a budget also check out wild pig slip ons ,u can usually find second for a great price and i don't know anyone who could find a blemish on em.as far as tuning its a whole can of worms,if u leave the stock air cleaner and stock head pipe u might be ok,but if u notice increased heat or pinging, get a tuner, ied"s work on the budget for a slip on only .
