Default Dropped bike - 1st time ever - crappy start to day.

It was more of a slow lower. Pulled back and to the right out of my garage, have a slight grassy grade there, bars were almost at full lock, and it started to go. I just didn't have the leverage where things were - and on to the crash bars she slowly went down while I tried to not let it happen...... UGH.

Never had did that with a bike before. I want to blame my stock ergonomics, cuz all my previous bikes I sat lower and had taller bars and I think that changes the leverage....., but I think I need to accept it was just a perfect storm of things being angled in such a way that it just happened. I watched many other people do the same thing and I guess it was just my unfortunate turn.

Bike is ok, but its all just a crappy way to start the day. Sometimes it doesn't pay to get out of bed.

A bad day with a bike is still better than a good day without one.

Default RE: Dropped bike

It happens. I dropped my Ultra twice. First time in the parking lot at work with all the guys watching. The 2nd time with the wife on the back, pulling right away from a stop sign and the guy in front all of a sudden stops. Didn't hurt the bike either time (or the wife). Just embarrassing. Whoever designed the crash bars did a great job. You will see some threads from some guys on here with some pretty funny stories. Welcome to the club.

Things could be a lot worse. When I screw up, I try to count my blessings and get the voice of my Dad calling me a dope out of my head!

How many people saw it happen?

I ask this, so that I can make you feel better.

My wife dropped her Dyna in front of Black Hills Harley Davidson, in front of about 2000 bikers.

My friend dropped his 81 FXB in front of the local Harley dealer in front of about 30 bikers...... AND BROKE HIS LEG.

See..... you don't feel so bad now, do you?
