Just got my new tires for my 08 ultra with abs. How hard is the removal and install of rims. Read the Manuel seems ok. Is there anything to watch out for. Local will charge $70/tire with mounting. Thanks

 

really not bad..just make sure the bike is balanced well on the lift without the saddle bags on...follow the manual...My local Indy shop chrges only $25 each wheel....

$70/ tire if you remove them from the bike sounds expensive. Most places around here change $75-$80 if you bring them the bike.

As far as things to watch for pay attention to the spacers and washers. Remove the brake calipers and tie them out of the way (not hanging from the hoses).
When you have the wheels off clean them and polish the rims, easiest time to do it.

Apply anti-sieze to the axles when you reinstall.

 

Indy here charges 20 per wheel mount & balance. 75 is exhorbatant.
