It depends on you service provider. I am with AT&T and am grandfathered into the unlimited data plan which is 30 a month extra. Here is a link to some data prices of some providers.

I use Pandora a LOT. Like 8+ hrs/day. I'm on unlimited plan, though. So, between Pandora and internet browsing, I'm closing in on 3gig this month.

It works fine on the bike, as long as I've got signal. The only time I had a problem was in the Smokies.

I run a charging cord to my phone, as Pandora can kill the battery in a few hours.

If you don't have an unlimited data plan Verizon. Is offering 4gb a month for the standard 30 fee if you get a 4g phone. Not too bad since the standard is 2gb a month
Also it is an extra 10 a month for every gb you go over. Most people don't use 2the gigs unless streaming movies or games and radio a lot

For those that have "unlimited" plans be careful. Most "unlimited" plans are in fact limited to 5 gigs. Double check with your carrier. And if you like pandora you should also try Slacker Radio. Thats the one I use.

I use Internet streaming on my phone while riding. I use the iPod mount in the saddlebag and play it through my iPod interface kit. The only problem is that I can't control any of the streaming apps via the handlebar controls while it's in the saddlebag.

If I ever drop signal, I just use the handlebar controls to flip it back to the iPod mode on the phone and listen to what I have stored on the device.

I am going to give it a try for a while. I called Verizon and they said that my unlimited plan is a true unlimited plan. They said I would not get "throttled" or charged anymore for usage. Let's see what happens. I will probably get the ipod interface kit eventually.

That's good info jj thanks. I wish I had got 2the of my sons the unlimited package last july before it was discontinued. I did get them the 4g plan as it is a great deal

I don't use Pandora, but I do stream internet radio using TuneIn Radio on the iPhone and it streams fine. There are spots where my cell signal drops out, but the stream picks up where it left off as soon as the signal returns. It's not perfect, but good enough for listening to Milwaukee radio all the way down here in Houston.

I'm in Northern CA & use my cell phone to stream Pandora through my radio's AUX port all the time. I find it plays louder & clearer than my IPod or the local radio stations.
So, Go for it!

Give us some feedback, so we'll know what to use when traveling through Maryland!

No need to hook anything to the radio. Just need a power outlet. It transmits to you radio and charges at the same time.
