Metzeler ME880's?
ORIGINAL: Gunners World
Sorry to start up an old thread but just had to do it. I ride an 03 electraglide standard and at 11,300 miles my second rearoem dunlop is totally shot. ??will the metzlers do much better? I check pressure weekly and keep it at factory specs. I do ride 2 up alot but this kind of tire life is terrible. Before buying my Harley I owned a Yamaha Roadstar 1600 and could get at least 12k out of reartires before they were shot. Whats the big difference here???

I dropped the scoot off to get some metzlers put on, now I'm worried, the website for metzler says these are the tires that will fit:
Front: 130/90B-16M/C 67H ME 880
Rear: 140/90B16M/C Reintfl 77H ME 880
here is the problem, the front tire load rating is only 677 lbs, thats 105 lbs less than Dunlops front tire (783lbs), I don't want to loose the load, is there a metzler that will work up front with a 77H rating (908lbs)??
PS, since my bike is in the shop, anybody have the maximum vehicle weight for a 2000 FLHTCI?

I went through an OEM dunlop in 5000 miles on a 07 heritage, it now belongs to someone else with a new Me 880 on it that rode far better than the dunllop. and no I do not do burn outs, When the dunlop wears out on the new street glide it will be getting a metz ME880
No smokey burnouts here. I am the original owner for my 03 flhti. The bike is a 95" Screaming eagle stage one that i had dealer installed. I check pressure weekly and keep it at 36 front and 36-40 rear depending on riding one or two up. I guess I am just not luckly with the dunlops.
