For satellite radio mounts that are really simple but look classy (and are made in the USA, BTW), check out http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/satellite-radio-mounts/ Also easy to just move the radio from motorcycle to car, etc.

Not sure if this qualifies but I downloaded the xm app for my Iphone 4s and just stick it in my saddle bag connected to my Iron Cross Ipod adapter to the radio. Works good but I'm sure I lose the signal more than an actual xm set up would. Just another option, and cheap if you already have a smart phone. Just need to add the computer listening to your subscription if you already have one in your car. Its like another $3 a month and you might need unlimited data for your phone. Options, Options, Options!!!
And the signal may be great around tow, but if you are traveling cross country, you may loose signal, or move into "Roaming" and get an extra charge.
I love my SIRIUS because I never have the signal fade on trips. And I can move it around to any vehicle or around the house.
The second photo is the antenna on top of the radio.
But to each their own.

Starmate Replay 5 that I swap btw house, car, truck and bike. Had now since 2007. On second replay unit as power jack came loose on 1st one. Use an old visor clip from an old radar detector attached to the plastic mounting adapter that came with the car/home kits for the Starmate. I then clip to my windshield bag and it easily then can be removed and stored out of site. Went recently with the Sirius FM adapter kit, but prior to that velcroed the antenna to the windshield bag. Hardwired the power from a source under the bat wing.

I have a Sirius, and use the eCaddy Deluxe. Very classy looking and very simple. You can even move the radio from car to motorcycle. Works with almost all satellite radio brands/models: http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/satellite-radio-mounts/
