Which Hertz 6.5s ?
Burned up another speaker, third time.
Time to get better speakers.
Seeing lots of good reviews on the Hertz 6.5s! They have several to choose from, which ones are the best? And where to get them?

Good question. I've blown two J & M 7-1/4's myself. I hear great stuff about the Focals and Hertz's. We've basically got the same amp, mine is a re-badged ARC, and if I just use c.d.'s with it I don't have a problem, but when I turn up the volume while using the radio I believe it's the distortion in the signal that's killing them. If I use c.d.'s, no distortion so no blown speakers. I don't think the Hertz's are rated to handle 125 watts though, are they? Mine supposedly are and I'm still blowing them.
I can't speak for other Hertz models, but I've had the Biketronics-Hertz Titans installed for almost a year now and find them excellent. They're being driven by a 125w/ch. RMS @ 2Ω Elf mini amp. This is the mod I should've done years ago.
Thanks for the replies, but the more I hear, the more questions I have.
In the Hertz 6.5" line up the following has been mentioned;
Titan
Titan II
HCX 165
HSK 165
HSK 165XL
Does anyone know the difference between the speakers above?
Are they all made for bikes and will they fit?
The Titan II weighs a pound less than the Titan, which is better?
Which is the best speaker in a bike with an Amp? Why?

After a little more digging I found as MassHD said, the Titan I is the same as the Hertz HCX 165.
The Hertz HSK 165 is like the HCX 165 but with remote location tweeters.
The Titan II is not a Hertz speaker at all, it is a Hybrid Audio speaker, and the one Bill at Biketronics highly recommends over the Titan I. It comes with lifetime guarantee and, a 30 satisfaction guarantee. I eventually took his word for it and made the order. We shall see.
