Thumbs up Wild Pig slipon sound improvements

Some of you may have read my last thread where I gutted my cat, got a power vision from fuel moto and bought wild pig slipons with the 2 1/2" baffle. All of that went great and the sound was what I wanted. Well, just to tinker a bit more, I removed a baffle on my wild pigs to check out the baffle material and there was none. I thought it would at least have something. So, I went to my local rice burner shop and bought a pack of FMC 4 stroke packing material. I was just enough to do both og my baffles. I have to say that I like the sound much better than before. It removed any hint of a tinny sound and is now a nice deep rumble and really barks when you get on it.

Just a little FYI for those that may go this route.

The baffles in my Wild Pigs were wrapped in packing material. The second set of baffles I bought were wrapped, too.

Yea, I had the same problem. Repacked earlier this spring with the stuff from Drag Specialties and I think its blown out already. Any ideas on better packing material?

A trick I learned to keep the material in longer is to take racing safety wire and wrap it like a barber shop pole around the material. It will not burn or melt and it keeps the packing in tact longer. Also, dont use household fiberglass insulation. I got a pack of FMC 4 stroke packing material from my local rice dealer for $9.99 and the one pack was enough to do both of my 2 1/2" baffles. It is a good dense material and cuts perfect with a utility knife.
