I then took 3/4 inch weather stripping and wrapped it around the bezel and put the trim ring on. Walla.... tight with no gap at the bottom and no gap around the outside. I love this site and thanks for all who post which helps idiots like me figure things out.
Yup. Exactly what I did as well. Perfect and easy. I had gray in hand to test and never went back to change it out to black. I no longer notice and the fit is tight and secure.
You have to make sure its SNAPED onto the stock trim ring, then take some needle nose pliers to close the gap enough so you can get the little nut and bolt started, worked for me with no gap. I did this WITHOUT loosening the stock trim ring. Hope that helps dude, stay safe.
thanks for all replies.... here is the finished product it was the right ring for the tourers and looking at all the forums as well as google it seemed road kings had the most issues.
I had a trim ring on my FLSTF dealer installed at purchase. My RKC would look better with the trim ring..... Reading all the posts here to see if it's worth the hassle.
