While not the cheapest for an insulated beverage container, one of the best is the Kleen Kanteen. Get one with a "cafe cap" and it should do the trick.

Lots of different sizes, so you can work out what's best for you. In case you're wondering how well they work, I filled mine (regular cap, not the "cafe cap") with ice last Sunday morning and forgot it in the tour pack. It still had a little bit of ice in it Tuesday evening when I went looking for something in the tour pack. Temps here in Chesapeake were ~79* on Sunday, 84* on Monday, and 82* on Tuesday.

Can't say how well it would do with the "cafe cap", but keeping ice for nearly three days in 80* weather works for me. Should be able to keep your coffee hot on a one day ride.

Never thought about using the guard holder. I purchase the lower fairing locking doors from Hog Trough which have a cup holder you can add to them. Works good for me and I use 5 days a week for my morning cup of coffee. Don't think I would want to reach behind me to try and grab a cup, much less put it back.

The one on the lower fairing is east to reach and put back. My Insulated cup fits into a coolly and then into the holder.

 

I found the contigo perfect. Fits just right and can be use with both hot and cold beverages. Lid automatically closes and opens with the push of a button. I use mine all the time.

Just want to give a Kudo's to our members for the great ideas on travel cups..... I am often in a hurry to hit the road and dont have time to finish my favorite Morning beverage and leave it behind!!

Thermos 2465 is much like the Contigo one, someone else posted up about this a while back and had many others say it works great too. Amazon, about 17 bucks. Hope this helps
