Mine does it as well. I made a post a week or two ago in regards to the same concern. Seems it is NORMAL. Mine has stock exhaust, for now, So I can really hear it. And yes worse at certain RPMs. I dont have a tach on my 07 RK, But guessing about that 2200-2500rpm range. And yes it is driving me nuts!!! Maybe staright pipes will drown it out.

Thank you for the replies! I wear a half helmet and headphones and usually listen to Metallica.. Feels great but the other day I took it out w/o headphones and it just sounded so loud.. The exhaust noise I love, its just that constant ticking type noise, exactly how a sewing machine sounds but on a Harley- Look im not complaining about noise , noise is fine I just want to make sure its normal.

One other way to tell it is normal, if you have your bike serviced at a dealer, they will tell you if it isn't normal and tell you it needs to be fixed. They are not going to pass up an opportunity to get more money. Quit worrying and enjoy the ride. Too many other things to worry about, like all the idiots on the road that do not see you.

Black Ops lifters are from Headquarters. About 160 bucks for a set of four, more than HD lifters, but less than Woods. I have them in my current 107 build, which is fairly noisy with Woods TW8 cams. I don't know if they'll do much of anything to quiet a noisy top end.
I usually use straight 50w dino oil in the summer, which does more to quiet a noisy valvetrain than anything else I've found.
