The angled stems are where I'm going in the future, but for now I pull my jack under it and line it up so I the valves are between 5 and 7 oclock.

There is a valve made like that..saw a link to it here just the other day..anybody recall that one? I was thinking about grabbing one before my next tire change, but forgot to note / bookmark it.

This is a funny question, I had my limited on the jack last month before it went on a 1400 mile ride upto and through Arkansas, week after I got back, gave it a well derserved bath, pulled it in the garage and lifted it back on the jack to detail it an noticed both valve stems were centered on the bottom just as they had been when I checked tire pressure before it hit the ground for our trip.

So yea, mine are turing up on the bottom centered.

I use a white metal marker to make a line on the side wall of the rear tire to mark where stem is. Like was said stem is never down when we park. And that stem is hard to see. White line on the side wall helps to find stem.

Your post made me laugh because it seems to me it seldom works out that way. You probably are like me and keep and eye on tire pressure before rides. Touring bikes make that hard. I came back from a long ride yesterday, backed into the garage and guess what? Front AND rear both down! Yay!

Try it on an RKC where it short and hidden between the spokes so it is almost impossible to reach.

Next time it's up on the jack, rotate the tires so both valves are pointed in the same direction before you let it down, that way in the future when you check tire pressure once you get one rolled into an accessable position the other will automatially be lined up. Maybe there is a market for a digital valve stem position indicator, with a little light on the dash. But seriously, We could employ some elements of the design of modern CTIS and put a valve stem in the end of the axle, no more access problem, next issue.

Chances are good that you'll need to roll it some to get to 6 o'clock position.

One thing I DID do the last time that I had it on the lift was to align BOTH valve stems to 6 o'clock. That way, there's a good chance that when I align the front, the rear will be accessible too!
