Not a single post about pulling a "Cowboy Rob" and stabbing the oil filter.

Stab the filter with screw driver and turn. Unless of course you are going to reuse the old filter.

I’ve stabbed them before. Had a K&N once where the nut spun right off.

paid for itself? at $154, it would take over 19 oil changes to do that. most guys don't even keep their bikes that long.

I bought the above mentioned Rivco but had to grind a flat spot on the outside edge to clear the crank position sensor. The oil cooler on my FLHP moved the filter enough to interfere the wrench with it. Little did I know the previous owner did not tighten the filter and I unscrewed it by hand.

Never had one of those stupid nuts actually work for removing a filter,nothing but an useless marketing gimmick.

More like 10-12 oil changes if your using a K&N filter, and yes, I took it from my old to newer bike. In addition, there are some advantages to having a reusable stainless filter over a paper, but you already knew that.
