Default Boom Audio....I'm upgrading the stereo components.

I know there a 1 million different combos, recommendations and variations available.

I've already purchased everything. I haven't installed it yet.

It's a '12 FLHX. I plan to replace the fairing speakers with the Classic boom bagger kit. I'm also installing the Boom Audio saddlebag lid speakers. I plan to use the amp from the bagger kit to power everything. I'm doing the iPod relo kit as well and plan to get the stereo fade controls unlocked.

If you have this setup, what your thoughts are on the sound quality? Is it pretty easy to hear while cruising?

I don't have that specific setup, but went with Biketronics amp and their Titan 6.5" speakers and it's a much improved sound. So, pretty much anything will improve the stock setup IMO. The only negative for me, is that it's rendered my back speakers useless, because the front ones are much louder. So, doing all 4 at the same time is a good idea.

Yeah...no kidding.
It's my gift to myself for when I get back from A'stan.
I just hope it's not wasted money.

First, thank you for your service.

If you're getting the HD Custom Touring audio kit that lists for $1800, it's grossly overpriced for what you're getting--much better value using aftermarket amps and speakers. Also, the HD system is a 1 ohm system which makes any later alterations very difficult since 1 ohm is an odd-ball.

Yes, there's value in using HD's plug and play products; but, it comes with a stiff premium in price, quality, and flexibility. What you're buying is essentially the same audio package that's on the 2012 CVO Street Glide if you're looking for comparisons.

In any case, stay safe and enjoy your ride.

I kind of did the same and was disappointed on the rear sound. I just adjusted the fader about two clicks to the rear from center. It's all good now.

@ Harleypingman

You're welcome.

Oh no....not the "Mack Daddy" make Uncle HD mo richer package. I'd love to have that sound I'm sure. There's no way I could afford to get all of that stuff or have anywhere to install it for that matter.

This is just the Boom fairing speakers and boom saddlebag speakers.

I've found aftermarket alternatives but want to see if anyone has this particular setup just to see if it's decent enough since I've already bought everything. (I'll keep the aftermarket stuff in mind as a Plan B since I've already bought the Boom stuff.)
