Default Best Rider Backrest for newer RK?

Looking for suggestions on a Rider(not passenger) backrest.

1.) I have a standard RK (09-newer) with a standard seat that I had MCC redo. This may cause a problem since my position is quite a bit lower and pushed forward than normal.

2.) It has to be quickly detachable for short runs with nothing too visible sticking out.

Any suggestions?

I bought the Mustang Rider Backrest through Dennis Kirk, and am pleased with it. I had to modify the mounting bracket/attachment, since I had my seat modified to put me back a couple of inches - the opposite of what you describe is your situation, but if your mods left the slot in the seat in the same location I think this option would work well for you. The backrest slips out of the mounting bracket quickly and the mounting hardware is not visible/sits below the seat level. Back rest folds fwd if you need it to swing your leg over when mounting the bike. Back rest position is somewhat adjustable with a set screw.

I have a backrest from Utopia. Gives me alot of support and is easy to remove when needed. After several back surgeries, it gives me the support I need on long rides.

check it out:

Get the HD adjustable rider backrest. I promise you won’t complain about the money after you have used it.

I went with the H-D Comfort Stitch Style Rider Backrest Kit #52572-09A. This is the non-adjustable model but has four mounting location for set-up. I like it and haven't remove it from my 2012 FLHR since install. Found the sweet spot after a couple of adjustments. The rider backrest comes in different patterns. I matched mine with the seat I have on RK.

I have a Mustang Vintage Solo seat. Big difference in comfort with the backrest v. not having it. It has multiple vertical and two tilt adjustments. Remove or install in a second

Worth the money.

HD Adjustable here. Wouldn't be without it! You can adjust it while riding, great for changing position.
